CENTREX International Exhibition Statistics Union has at her recent Board meeting approved the joining application of REECO Hungary as the 18th member of the organisation.
The new member is the organiser of a trade fair of the new trends: renewable energy. This fair RENEXPO Central & South-East Europe has been held for the 2nd time and is bound for a great success. (REECO Hungary is a subsidiary of German group REECO who is a member of FKM)
CENTREX Board has met in Ostrava (Czech Republic) on the invitation of Mr. Karel Burda, CEO of Ostravské Vystavy a.s. (who only a few weeks before was awarded as the Personality of the Czech Exhibition Industry - a brand new award established by SOVA).
CENTREX Board while approving the activity plan for 2008 has elected Mr. Boguslaw Zalewski (representative of Poznan International Fair) as new chaiman for the next 2 years. The Board has also extended the mandate of Mr. Jiri Knop (representative of Brno Trade Fairs) as executive director.
The preliminary figures arriving from the region indicates that CENTREX members have organised 287 trade fairs and exhibitions, where nearly 54,000 exhibitors presented their products and services (among them 21 p.c. direct foreign exhibitors). They have used nearly 1.9 million sq. m. net exhibition space for their appearences and these fairs were visited by nearly 4 million visitors.
The international union - safeguarding exhibition stastistics transparency at the major organiser of the region and organiser of exchange of experience as well as regular Central East European Exhibition Forums - has her seat in Hungary and has members from 6 countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine and Romania.
